Eye Clinic Liaison Officer
GAB is working in partnership with the Royal Gwent Hospital to provide an information point and Eye Clinic Liaison Officer within the Eye Clinic (E Block) at the Royal Gwent.
There is a well-stocked desk in the waiting room providing information booklets and tapes about the various services available for people who are visually impaired and visitors to the Eye Clinic are invited to help themselves to as many leaflets/tapes as they would like.
In addition, our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer, Lissa, provides a welcoming presence at the Clinic on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She will happily chat to patients about the role of GAB in helping people with visual impairment and answer any questions they may have. She also, however, is there to talk and offer help or advice to any patient who has become referable for registration as Blind or Partially Sighted at the very stressful time when the consultant lets them know that their sight condition will not improve.
